5 totalWow, very interesting, I can't wait to experience a peaceful sleep like many claimed to have after a treatment. Very pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff very helpful with all of my questions. This old body I needed some high octane oxygen to mend all those little issues you thought couldn't change. And I'm praying my body knows how to mend a couple of big issues. I might come back with a follow-up. Stay tuned!
I've received HBOT treatments at multiple clinics and Vancouver Hyperbarics has been by far the most pleasant. Entire staff is very knowledgeable and passionate about HBOT. Facilities and chambers are modern and clean. HBOT helped a great deal with my Long Covid symptoms. Highly recommended.
Started running a few years ago before the pandemic because I had an injury to shoulder from kickboxing but wanted to stay active. In my first 6 months of running was able to run up to 90 min. After going to the US right when the pandemic started, I noticed over time my stamina dropped during running. Eventually was down to 2 miles then to 1 mile. It was a struggle to run just for 11 or 12 minutes. I saw a pulmonologist and got tested. I was put on additional asthma medication which did nothing. Worse yet I was accused of not taking my asthma medication properly. I have tried maybe around 15-20 supplements, some available in local stores, some not. Finally consulted a integrative medical doctor from the UK who was an elite triathlete who developed long Covid and was seriously debilitated until she received hyperbaric oxygen treatments. She developed her own treatment regimen which included diet and supplements (which are not cheap). I followed her recommendation of doing at least 3 hyperbaric sessions per week. I had 11 sessions and when I went back to Ontario found I was able to more than run for double the distance I was doing previously and last for over a half hour. My muscles weren't fatigued so quickly, my breathing was not as laboured. I was also taking supplements that help with microclots. As you can see from the photos the place is new and well-maintained. The chambers are cleaned after every session. Each client is given a plastic container to put things like cellphones and other electronics as anything with a battery is not allowed into the hyperbaric chamber. They have television sets and the audio is piped into the chamber. You have your choice of Youtube or Netflix. It really helps pass the time. If you are an older person like myself, I advise you not to have any fluids within 3-4 hours before having a session because you don't want to have to use the bathroom during a session. This is because it takes around 15 minutes or so to depressurize a chamber before you can exit and take care of business. You can have a blanket if you choose. The mask does not have to fit very snugly around your mouth and nose. I felt very supported by Santino and Dr. Joe in my healing journey. With the way they interact I felt that they genuinely care about my wellbeing. Dr. Joe told me that he wanted to help me get better with as few sessions as possible. I strongly recommend Vancouver Hyperbarics if you are dealing with any chronic issues whether it be asthma, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia or long Covid. Hyperbaric oxygen treatments took me farther than anything else I tried. It did the same for the doctor I consulted.
I am a post professional runner (29:40 10km, 14:07 5km) I still train for a few races each year average 80-100km per week. I found out about Hyperbarics from a good friend and then decided to stop by to get extra information from Vancouver Hyperbarics. They excelled, answered all my questions and showed me new info I didn't know about the treatment. I was keen to try it and see how it would aid the body in Post workout recovery. I did a hard session one day 6 X Mile off of 2 min at 10km race pace, the next day easy run in the morning, worked my job, and then went in for my session. The chamber was comfortable and then even had a T.V. on the outside so I could watch a movie for the duration. The oxygen keeps you quite alert when you are inside. After my 90 min session I came out of the chamber feeling quite refreshed and the soreness in my legs from running had been reduced. The next Day I really felt a reduction in muscle soreness, as well as the normal fatigue from training and running felt reduce and my legs felt very fresh and ready to attempt a strong workout. I am excited to research more about the consistent use of hyperbarics on training. I will definitely be using the therapy post my upcoming half marathon this year and full marathon next year, I know it will reduce the recovery time substantially. The Staff were Knowledgeable, Friendly, Caring, Clear, and Concise. I would absolutely recommend this style of therapy to anyone recovering from a tough workout, anyone dealing with a sports injury, and the medical illnesses it has proven to aid in healing.
I have been going to Vancouver Hyperbaric for the last 6 weeks for treatment of CFS. This has been a struggle of mine since 2011 when I became ill with meningitis. Post meningitis has been a uphill battle for me and HBOT has turned out to be a way for me to move the needle in a positive direction in my health. Santino and Joe, the two owners of Vancouver Hyperbarics have been extremely accommodating of my schedule and making sure I have been taken care of. Without such dedicated staff the process of a 6-8 week recovery protocol would be much more difficult. If you have any need, or friends that could use this service make sure to give them a call!
