3 totalThere is no better physio therapy studio in Geneva (and honestly in whole Swiss). I’ve been a patient for years. Also, the addition of Hyperbaric oxygen machines and the gym are unbeatable. Such a great value added.
Do NOT try their oxygen chambers. I sent an email privately a month ago and received no response, so I’m posting here again, hoping the clinic can address these issues for future clients. My husband and I visited on August 23, 2025. We booked two chambers for 10:00am and arrived early at 9:50am. Despite ringing the doorbell several times, no one responded. After 10 minutes of waiting, I had to bang on the door before the receptionist finally opened. The receptionist was there the whole time. Either the doorbell does not work or staff was not attentive. Upon entry, the receptionist seemed confused about our appointment and couldn’t find our booking. She then informed us that one chamber was broken and only one was available. We should have been notified in advance. As it was my first time using the chamber, I relied on the receptionist’s instructions, who specifically told me to put on the oxygen mask once the pressure needle reached 60, and to press the call button for assistance. After 20 minutes of me lying inside the chamber, the needle still hadn’t reached 60 so I pressed the call button multiple times to clarify if this is 60 or not —again, no one answered. The receptionist returned 40 minutes into the session, at which point I explained that I had followed her instructions but couldn’t use the mask properly because she had not responded to the call button. She told me she had checked everything was fine before leaving, but clearly it was not—I spent half the session without the oxygen mask. Overall, the experience was disorganized, unprofessional, and a waste of time and money.
During my recent hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) session, I encountered an issue that I hadn’t experienced before: symptoms of hypercapnia. After the pressure was raised to 1.4 bar (slightly higher than my previous session at 1.3 bar), I felt an intense shortness of breath throughout the procedure and even hours after. While no physical pain occurred, the sensation of oxygen deprivation was persistent. Upon further research and consultation, I discovered that hypercapnia, or the accumulation of carbon dioxide (CO₂) in the bloodstream, can occur in hyperbaric chambers if ventilation is inadequate. Essentially, while the body is absorbing oxygen at higher pressures, insufficient CO₂ removal could lead to feelings of air hunger and discomfort, as CO₂ levels rise. This can happen even when oxygen levels appear normal. In my case, it seems the chamber may not have adequately circulated the air, causing these symptoms.
